🕌
Order of Deductions: Islamic law requires that funeral & burial expenses are paid first, then outstanding debts, then any valid Islamic will (Wasiyyah up to 1/3), and finally the remainder is distributed to heirs.
📜
Islamic Will (Wasiyyah): A Muslim may bequeath up to 1/3 of the estate to non-heirs or charitable causes. Bequeathing to existing heirs is generally not permitted without the consent of other heirs.
⚖️
Asabah (Residual Heirs): After fixed shares are distributed, any remainder goes to the nearest male agnate relative — typically sons, then father, then brothers. Sons and daughters together inherit as asabah with sons getting twice the daughter's share.
📖
Quranic Basis: Faraid is derived primarily from Surah An-Nisa (4:11-12, 4:176), supplemented by Hadith. The six fixed Quranic shares are: 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 2/3, 1/3, and 1/6.
🔢
Awl & Radd: If fixed shares exceed 100% (Awl), all shares are proportionally reduced. If shares total less than 100% with no Asabah (Radd), the surplus is returned to non-spouse fixed-share heirs proportionally.

Islamic Inheritance (Faraid) Calculator

Calculate Islamic inheritance shares quickly and accurately with our free Islamic Inheritance (Faraid) Calculator. This tool helps Muslims estimate how an estate may be distributed among eligible heirs according to commonly accepted Islamic inheritance principles. Simply enter the estate value, funeral expenses, debts, will amount (if applicable), and information about surviving family members to receive an estimated inheritance breakdown.

Islamic inheritance law is a detailed system designed to ensure fair and just distribution of wealth after a person’s death. The shares of heirs such as spouses, parents, children, and other relatives are determined according to specific rules found in the Quran and Sunnah. Our calculator simplifies these calculations by automatically applying inheritance formulas and displaying the share of each eligible heir.

Before inheritance can be distributed, Islamic law generally requires that funeral expenses, outstanding debts, and any valid Islamic will (Wasiyyah) be settled. The remaining estate is then divided among eligible heirs according to their prescribed shares. This calculator helps users understand this process and provides a clear overview of how the estate may be allocated.

The tool is useful for educational purposes, inheritance planning, and gaining a better understanding of Islamic estate distribution. It supports multiple currencies and provides a transparent breakdown showing each heir’s percentage share and estimated monetary amount based on the information entered.
